House, Senate Bills Moving

The House was the only chamber in voting session this week.

House

Lake Erie Wind, Solar Leasing: House Bill 254 (Merski-D-Erie) authorizing leasing of Lake Erie for large-scale wind, solar or kinetic energy generation facilities [House Fiscal Note & Summary] was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee and passed by the House 102 to 99-- Democrats supporting.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action.

Public Maintenance Of Water/Sewer Laterals: House Bill 1903  (Cerrato-D-Montgomery) authorize use of public funds to maintain private later water and sewer lines was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee [House Fiscal Note & Summary] and passed by the House 133 to 67, with bipartisan support.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action.

Designating Scenic Byway In Pittsburgh: House Bill 2161 (McAndrew-D-Allegheny) designating the Allegheny River Boulevard as a scenic byway was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee [House Fiscal Note & Summary] and passed by the House 105 to 95-- Republicans opposing.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action.

Asphalt Sealants: House Bill 1166 (Steele-D-Allegheny) prohibiting the use of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in asphalt sealants was amended and referred to the House Appropriations Committee.

Cremation: House Bill 1172 (Daley-D-Montgomery) authorizing the expanded use of alkaline hydrolysis in cremation was removed from the Table and is now on the House Calendar for action.
